Ian Abramson brings together LA's top comedians, artists, editors, and writers every month to celebrate, parody, pay homage, and just straight-up geek out over the movies they love. August 19th we turn Video Vortex into an 2 billion dollar underwater lab where sharks are unwillingly having brain surgery to benefit mankind(!?!)

There will be sketch, standup, gameshows, trivia, prizes, and a puppet or two. Plus, the night is DJ'd by none other than the amazing DJ Ama B, who'll spin 1999 hits as well as movie-inspired songs all night. It's a show AND a party. And it's *somehow* FREE!

Join us at Video Vortex inside the legendary Alamo Drafthouse in Downtown LA. Most of these movies don't have rides at Disneyland, but they do get their own comedy show at Alamo Drafthouse.

Our recent shows celebrated: The Warriors, Spice World, THE MUMMY, Donnie Darko, Event Horizon, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Phone Booth, Mad Max: Fury Road, Empire Records, Omega Man, Toy Story...The audience for each show picks the movie for the next show!
